Dr Gutenstein is an Emergency Physician and Rural Medicine Specialist based in Nelson. He is Senior Lecturer with University of Otago and leads the trauma and emergency training for the Rural Postgraduate programme. He is interested in the ED as a sociotechnical system, using simulation training to optimise patient care and digital health technology to support clinical decisions. He is the clinical co-designer of Wayfind, a learning health system for Emergency Medicine pathways.
